Joseph Blaes

Joseph Blaes, DDS

Dr. Joe Blaes created a unique, insurance-free, fee-for-service general practice in St. Louis, Missouri, that emphasizes preventive, esthetic, reconstructive and implant dentistry. Because of his interest in new, innovative and more efficient materials and techniques, Dr. Blaes began writing a column, “Pearls for Your Practice” in Dental Economics. This column became a trusted source for maximizing dental practice efficiency. For almost two decades he was best known as the Chief Editor of Dental Economics. His lectures and hands-on programs for Dentists, Dental Assistants and Hygienists have won rave reviews around the country. In addition to memberships in many professional organizations, Dr. Blaes is a Fellow of the American College of Dentists, a past President of the American Academy of Dental Practice Administration and a Founding Member of the American Academy for Oral Systemic Health. His honors include St. Louis University’s coveted Alumni Merit Award and the AGD Missouri Dentist of the Year Award 2007.

Lou Graham

Lou Graham, DDS

Dr. Graham is an internationally recognized lecturer extensively involved in continuing education for dental professionals, and a published author in many leading national and international dental journals. He is a member of the American Dental Association, American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry, Academy of General Dentistry, Chicago Dental Society and Illinois Dental Association. Dr. Graham is a graduate of Emory Dental School and the former Dental Director of the University of Chicago’s Department of Dentistry. He enjoys providing dental care at his multi-specialty private practice group, University Dental Professionals, in Chicago, IL - Hyde Park.

There is no "one type" of dental practice today and this course will highlight the pathways to choosing what criteria are used in the selection process for the right CBCT system for your practice. The course will continue with a transition process of learning and collaborating with both your patients and specialists.

Kaveh Ghaboussi

Kaveh Ghaboussi, DMD

Dr. Ghaboussi is one of the few dentists in the country who has qualified for, and been awarded with a Mastership in the American Dental Implant Association, and a Diplomate from the Dental Organization for Conscious Sedation for his excellence and clinical abilities in sedation, and implant dentistry. To better serve his patients, he is an active member in the American Dental Association, Dental Organization For Conscious Sedation, Reconstructive Dentistry Institute, as well as the American Dental Implant Association. Dr. Ghaboussi has helped dentists from across the United States in implementing new procedures in their offices, such as: CAD/CAM, cosmetic dentistry, photography, and dental implants. He has been a featured speaker for many public groups and events on topics such as growth and development, orthodontics, cosmetic dentistry, and oral health.

Implant placement is a large part of my practice. I will describe how CBCT has changed my treatment plans and made a significant difference in patient acceptance. I will also discuss how I was able to gain staff acceptance and create excitement over use of CBCT in our practice.

Lisa Koenig

Lisa Koenig, BChD, DDS, MS

Dr. Koenig currently serves as Professor and Program Director of Oral Medicine and Oral Radiology at Marquette University School of Dentistry in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. She received the Marquette University School of Dentistry Full-time Faculty Excellence in Teaching Award in 2009 and the Marquette University Rev. John P. Raynor Teaching Excellence Award in 2010. Dr. Koenig has been Board certified in Oral and Maxillofacial Radiology since 1996 and is Past-President of the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Radiology. Her maxillofacial imaging textbook “Diagnostic Imaging: Oral and Maxillofacial” was released in October of 2011 and a new book which she co-authored on Dental Implants was released in June, 2014. She is currently working on an on-line resource for oral and maxillofacial radiology called Stat Dx to complement the Diagnostic Imaging textbook.

Dr. Koenig will review radiographic anatomy as seen on CBCT images from the cranial base to the suprahyoid neck. The radiographic presentation of common odontogenic lesions including periapical and pericoronal pathology, and common non-odontogenic pathology will be discussed. Emphasis will be on the description of radiographic features and the formulation of differential diagnoses.

Gy Yatros

Gy Yatros, DMD

Dr. Gy Yatros has been practicing dental sleep medicine for over 15 years and is a well-respected international lecturer in the field of sleep-disordered breathing and dental sleep medicine. Through his pragmatic and energetic teaching approach he has earned visiting faculty positons at the nationally esteemed Dawson Academy, Spear Education, and Pankey Institute. He has offices in Bradenton, Sarasota and Tampa, Florida devoted exclusively to the treatment of sleep disordered breathing and TMD. He is a Diplomate of the American Board of Dental Sleep Medicine (ABDSM), past president of the Manatee Dental Society and is an Affiliate Assistant Professor of the Department of Internal Medicine with the University of South Florida, College of Medicine. He is a Co-Founder of the Dental Sleep Solutions system for successfully implementing dental sleep medicine in dental practices.

Airway analysis using CBCT can provide valuable insights into the role of CBCT as it relates to airway evaluation. Many of our patients have obstructed airways and garnering a comprehensive view of them can guide dentists to more predictable treatment outcomes. What we can't see can hurt our patients. We'll review the landmarks important to airway analysis while discussing how it impacts treatment planning.

Douglas Chenin

Douglas Chenin, DDS

Douglas Chenin, DDS is a graduate of the University of the Pacific Arthur A. Dugoni School of Dentistry. Dr. Chenin worked directly with Anatomage for five years as the Director of Clinical Affairs where he helped in the development of the Invivo5 CBCT Imaging software and the Anatomage Surgical Guide system. He also worked in conjunction with BeamReaders Inc for several years directing the implant planning consultations and surgical guide facilitation services.

He has earned a reputation of a CBCT technology expert with his extensive participation in study clubs, seminars, conferences, and his numerous professional publications about CBCT imaging for various dental specialities.

Dr. Chenin also founded his own CBCT Consulting and education company called Clinically Correct Inc which focuses specifically on teaching CBCT imaging technology.

In this lecture Dr. Douglas Chenin will introduce the various surgical guide types and classify them according to the available "levels of control" that surgical guides can offer, and the associated instruments needed for these various capabilities. He will also discuss surgical guide digital workflow considerations and surgical guide protocols. This lecture will also explore the associated digital CAD/CAM capabilities and advanced options that can be used in conjunction with guided technologies. This lecture is perfect for anybody interested in using surgical guides, ether on their own or to facilitate case planning and collaboration with colleagues.

Terry Work

Terry Work, DMD

Dr. Work earned a Bachelor of Science degree at the University of Oregon before continuing on to dental school at Oregon Health Sciences University. After joining the US Navy, he and served as a Navy Dental Officer for four years before setting up his private practice in Scottsdale, Arizona. He has more than 20 years of experience as a practicing dentist and is an Ambassador of Education for Instadent, a global provider of dental implantology and tooth restoration solutions. He also lectures on implant placement and bone grafting techniques. Dr. Work is a member of the American Dental Association, the Arizona State Dental Association, the Flying Dentists Association, and is a Diplomate of the International Congress of Oral Implantologists.

The Boston lecture will discuss a brief history of CBCT, the uses of CBCT in a General dental office. I will discuss how patients benefit from the technology being available in a general dental office. With CBCT a practitioner can improve their ability to diagnose and increase their profitability.

Christine Taxin

Christine Taxin, Founder and President, Links2Success

Christine Taxin is a vision-driven person finding strength and direction from her inner convictions. Her energetic, thought-provoking and successful program development shines a bright light for others to preview the future and find their place in it. She is the founder and president of Links2Success, which delivers continuing education seminars for dental and medical professionals, and she serves as an adjunct professor at the New York University (NYU) Dental School and Resident Programs for New York City Programs. Christine Taxin has been awarded “Leader in Consulting” for the past three years in Dentistry Today’s List.
